Product Description

2006 Custom Home Furnishings Conference Seminar: Swag expert Ann K. Johnson will present comprehensive details on the swag pattern and how all the different components of the pattern (top line, length, bottom curve, and pleating) work together to create a swag of specific proportions. Attendees are expected to have at least a working knowledge of swag fabrication. Ann will share tips for cutting, fabricating, and mounting swags, but the focus of the class is to learn the engineering of the pattern and the steps to draw your own swag patterns. This class will be taught from Ann's book The Professional Workroom Handbook of Swags, Volume 1. The class will cover in detail the three most basic swag styles: board mount, cutout, and point-to-point. It will discuss the unique characteristics of each type of swag, how to draw the pattern for different variations and how to troubleshoot. You will walk away from this class with an understanding of swag patterns that you can apply to your established swag patterns. You will also have the ability to draw a pattern for any size swag that falls outside the parameters of your current patterns. (180 min)
